Invest in modern technology to reduce emissions from sources.

Recognizing this, from its establishment in 1995, Ton Phuong Nam (SSSC) has identified green development and sustainable development as a guiding principle throughout all its production and business activities.

Over more than three decades of construction and development, Ton Phuong Nam (SSSC) has continuously invested in advanced technology, perfected its environmental management system, and implemented a comprehensive range of solutions to control and thoroughly treat all sources of waste before releasing them into the environment.

One of the key factors that helps businesses effectively control environmental impacts is the selection of modern, integrated production technologies from G7 countries. This not only improves productivity and product quality but also significantly reduces raw material and energy consumption and limits waste generation during the production process.

Simultaneously, Ton Phuong Nam (SSSC) prioritizes the use of clean fuels such as natural gas (NG), compressed natural gas (CNG), and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for its heating furnaces and kilns. Compared to traditional fuels, these fuel sources significantly reduce the amount of harmful emissions and greenhouse gases generated during the production process.

To ensure that environmental protection activities are carried out systematically, Ton Phuong Nam (SSSC) has applied an environmental management system according to ISO 14001:2015 standards. This is a tool that helps comprehensively control all aspects of the environment, from identifying waste sources and assessing risks to developing control measures and continuous improvement.

Strictly control wastewater before discharge.

To proactively control wastewater discharge, Ton Phuong Nam (SSSC) has invested in building a centralized wastewater treatment system with a capacity of 300 m³/day. All wastewater generated during production is collected through a closed-loop pipeline system and transported to the centralized treatment facility.

Here, wastewater undergoes multiple treatment stages to remove impurities, oil, grease, metals, and other pollutants before being tested for effluent quality. Only when it meets the requirements of the national technical standard for industrial wastewater QCVN 40:2025/BTNMT (column B) is the wastewater connected to the centralized wastewater treatment system of Nhon Trach 2 - Nhon Phu Industrial Park.

Investing in modern wastewater treatment systems not only helps businesses strictly comply with environmental laws and regulations but also demonstrates responsibility towards the community and the ecosystem surrounding the production area.

Regarding chemical vapors, primarily alkaline vapors generated during product surface cleaning, Ton Phuong Nam (SSSC) has installed three local exhaust gas treatment systems at the emission points. These systems utilize wet-bed absorption technology with a capacity of 12,000 m³/hour, equivalent to 200 m³/minute.

Wet buffer absorption technology allows pollutants in the gas stream to have maximum contact with the absorption solution, thereby effectively removing pollutants before the exhaust gas is released into the environment through a 20m high chimney. After treatment, the exhaust gas is guaranteed to meet the standards of QCVN 19:2009/BTNMT before being released into the environment.

With solvent vapors generated during the painting and drying processes, the company continues to invest in a solvent vapor treatment system using regenerative combustion (RTO) technology with a capacity of up to 42,000 m³/hour at its color-coated steel sheet production plant.

This is considered one of the most advanced technologies currently available for treating volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The system operates on the principle of thermal oxidation at high temperatures, which helps to almost completely decompose toxic organic compounds into CO₂ gas and water vapor. As a result, the generated emissions are thoroughly treated, fully meeting environmental requirements before being released into the atmosphere.

Besides wastewater and air emissions, Ton Phuong Nam (SSSC) also places special emphasis on the management of ordinary solid waste and hazardous waste.

Waste materials such as sludge, zinc slag, and chemical packaging are sorted at the source after generation.

All hazardous waste is tracked and managed with complete records and transferred to authorized treatment units in accordance with the law. This process helps ensure that no secondary contamination risks arise during storage and transportation.

Investing in the environment is not only a responsibility but also a long-term development strategy. Therefore, in addition to waste treatment systems, Ton Phuong Nam (SSSC) continues to promote technological innovation in production towards modern, energy-efficient, and emission-reducing processes, minimizing raw material consumption, increasing automation, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Synchronized solutions ranging from production technology to environmental management have been creating a solid foundation for Ton Phuong Nam (SSSC) to realize its goal of producing green steel and demonstrate its commitment to accompanying the country's green growth and sustainable development strategy in the new era.
