According to Mr. Lê Việt, General Director of Southern Steel, the domestic market remains a strategic pillar, but exports have become an essential direction in the new development phase. In addition to its traditional markets such as Cambodia and Laos, the company is gradually expanding into the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe - regions known as some of the world’s most demanding markets.

Notably, Southern Steel is not only bringing its products abroad but also carrying with it the spirit and values of Vietnamese corporate culture - honesty, integrity, and solidarity - qualities that are highly appreciated by international partners.

“International cooperation is considered by Southern Steel as a steady step forward - not only to expand markets, but also as a measure of the true competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises,” he said.

Cambodia has been a particularly important market throughout Southern Steel’s export journey, dating back to 1997 when the company was still part of the former Southern Steel Corporation. For more than 30 years, its relationship with Cambodian partners - notably Chip Mong Group - has been maintained on the basis of trust and mutual development. Beyond being a supplier, Southern Steel has also been a “companion” in many major construction projects in Cambodia.

Alongside its traditional markets, Southern Steel is targeting developed countries with strict technical and environmental standards. Its products have already obtained several international certifications, including ASTM (USA) and BS (UK), as well as meeting Europe’s stringent environmental requirements. This demonstrates not only the company’s advanced manufacturing technology but also its commitment to sustainability, with a focus on developing “green steel” - products with low CO₂ emissions and minimal environmental impact. This development direction aligns with global priorities as many countries accelerate the transition toward green and circular economies.

According to Mr. Lê Việt, entering international markets does more than generate revenue - it affirms the position of the Vietnamese steel industry, which currently ranks 11th in the world by output.

“Our long-term goal is to build a strong and sustainable Vietnamese steel brand, positioning ‘Vietnamese steel - international quality’ as a trusted and preferred choice for global partners,” he emphasized.

Beyond business operations, the company aims to portray the image of a responsible, internationally integrated enterprise - where each product not only meets quality standards but also reflects the spirit of innovation, dedication, and aspiration of the Vietnamese people.

Over the years, Southern Steel - VNSTEEL (SSCV) has consistently invested in technological upgrades, enhancing production capacity, and strengthening quality control in accordance with international standards. As a result, its products meet the stringent requirements of major domestic projects such as airports, seaports, expressways, and industrial zones, while also qualifying for export to advanced global markets.
